Water sustains all life on earth and is the second most important element to the body after oxygen. The average adult human is comprised of about 2/3 water. All cells and organs depend on water for functioning - proper hydration is vital for one’s health and the prevention of disease. Studies show that drinking at least 1.5 - 2 liters of water a day (depending on personal daily activities) will prevent dehydration and may decrease one’s chances of certain cancers and other diseases. While the quantity of water is significant, the quality may be even more critical as some sources and watersheds may not be as sanitary as one is lead to believe.

Nearly 50% of the bottled water sold in the United States is simply purified municipal water, better known as “tap water”. This water contains many impurities that are filtered through purification processes. While some pollutants and chemicals are removed, others still remain in the water. Certain methods often strip natural minerals and nutrients from the water that are vital to the body. In fact, some brands do not cross state lines and are therefore exempt from federal regulations.

Spring water is not all the same. Various characteristics influence the quality of water, including, altitude, temperature, minerals present, location, surrounding terrain, and other natural factors. BACCARA™ water is carefully drawn from springs in high altitudes, with a perfect balance of minerals essential to the body. The location of the spring and surrounding mountainous terrain provides for the ideal setting of a natural spring.

Many factors influence the quality, taste, and value of bottled water. Water purity is measured by the “TDS” (Total Dissolved Solids). The TDS represents the mineral content, nutrients, and metals present in the water. The higher the TDS - the higher the levels - the stronger the taste. Accordingly, purer tasting waters have lower TDS levels while stronger tasting waters have higher TDS levels. Many companies remove all mineral content, providing water with no TDS. This can be harmful to one’s body as cells and organs need these essential minerals for basic functioning and good health. A low level TDS is the most sought after because of the “soft” taste, but vital presence of necessary minerals. With a TDS level as low as 10, BACCARA is one of the purest natural spring waters in the world.
